do mid-length handguards place the bayonet lug close enuff to end of the 16" barrell to accomodate a standard bayonet? i've noticed that a 16" w/car handgaurds will not accept a standard bayo. i've been told there are bayonets made to fit the CAR, is that true?

thanx

Yes, mid-length handguards on a 16" barrel will allow you to use your standard bayonet. In Pre-Ban Config. of coarse ;)

Everything that I've read says: "NO!" At least not the Armalite or RRA mid-lengths.

Dont confuse this with what you have read. As i happen to own an RRA upper (mid-length) and the standard bayo fits quite nicely.

Troy, just to clarify...this is not the case with RRA.

I have an Armalite 16 inch midlength handguard upper, about 6 months old and the bayonet fits perfectly. It is in the exact location necessary to mount it properly. Jeff
