Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - mid-length handguards and bayonets

I know the M-4 length handguards on a 16 inch barrel, and FSB position associated with them leave the bayonet lug too far back to work properly with an M9 bayonet.  Do "mid-length" handguards put the bayonet lug in the proper position, or are they also not correct for the M9?
