I am buying a Colt pre ban with a threaded muzzle.  How do I permanently attach the flash hider so I can make it legal?  Would the front site base be stuck there also?
Thanks,
Renny

Flash hiders are not legal on a post ban even if you permanently attach it.  Muzzle brakes are OK.  Send to KKF or your local gunsmith, have them drill it, pin it, then weld it over and refinish it.

If the length is fine, and you wish for a plain muzzle. just attach a thread protector per approved method.

Install a Cav Comp as per Cavalry Arms instructions.  Weld over the pin hole after pinning.  This will look like an A2 FH, but be legal.

Grind the ears off the bayonet lug using a Dremel fiber cutoff wheel.  Touch up freshly cut metal with Birchwood Casey cold blue.  It will be close enough.  Clean with damp rag after, to remove excess chemical and let dry, then oil the area.
