Buffer, receiver extension tube (aka buffer tube), buffer spring, stock body.

Why the H3 buffer? Will this be a SBR or something?

Did you order a stock kit or are you getting the parts separately for the stock? Otherwise you'll need a receiver extension nut (Castle Nut), receiver end plate. Either way you need a collapsible stock wrench(CAR wrench).

unless i misinterpreted things, the bigger the buffer the less recoil, right? otherwise i can save 30-50 by getting a H or H2

Go about 4 topics above this one and read through it thoroughly.  Everything you need to know.

yea, getting a kit from bravo

Not necessarily. Buffers should be chosen based on barrel length, gas system length, gas port size, etc etc. I wouldn't recommend an H3 buffer for a brand new 16" upper. Try a standard or H buffer. And don't worry, no 5.56 weapon has too much recoil

i remember from when i was active duty, 5.56 is barely over 9mm in recoil, but I figured I'd be safe for later if i got like a 7.62 upper or that 5.7 upper /drool, is a standard H buffer enough for those as well? or am I better with 2 different buffers for when i swap uppers?

A 7.62x51 upper won't fit on a standard AR-15 lower.

As for the 5.7 upper, I'm not too familiar with its operation, but I would expect it to have practically no recoil.

of course you mean for those varmints and woodland critters i'm hunting.....

or one of the best movie quotes:
John: Why can't we hunt something cool like a hawk or an eagle, something with some talons?
Jeremy: That'd be awesome. We could get something like big game. Even like gorilla or rhinoceros or fucking human being! That'll get you jacked up.

sorry to say i dont hunt, but wish i had the time to. but down here in texas if anything illegal or not jumps my fence uninvited in the middle of the night, im dropping it! why? cause legally i can here. i love this state, "what a country"! not many states let you protect your property and family the way you should be able to. good luck w/ your project. Gas rod? Do you mean gas tube. You'll need a gas tube, unless you want a gas-piston system. Gas tubes come in pistol, carbine, mid-length, and rifle length. So it depends on what you want to build. Also, If you do not get a barrel with a FSB, etc.., you'll also need a gas block too.

Definitely, take a look at the assembly guides here in the forums and posted on the web they'll help a lot.
