I'd like some feedback from owners of lmt uppers as far as quality/reliability.Would like to get an m4 upper but there's so many choices and the lmt seem to have what i want.

LMT makes a very high quality upper.  My only gripe is that the receivers on the ones I have owned were purple and poorly finished on the inside.  Those are purely cosmetic issues, though, and in no way affected functionality.  I currently have a 14.5" upper residing on a favorite RRA lower and it has been very good to me.

If Colt were not a choice, LMT would be my first choice before any other makers

LMT = Good stuff

I've got one.  I haven't used it yet, but its finish is pretty even.  It's a nice deep dark black.  The only marks on it are from the barrel vice block thing that clamps around the receiver to hold it while the barrel is installed.  I've seen many pictures of LMT uppers, and most of them have this.  It's only cosmetic though, so it doesn't bother me.  Someday when I get a Fab10 or Bushmaster CA-Legal lower, I'll FINALLY get to shoot it!

I own Colt (many),and LMT (14.5'' tube w/phantom fs-LMT 16BCG). Have been very happy with the fit/finish/function of my LMT. I'm getting 2500fps with TAP75gr ammo, 2'' groups @100M using aimpoint M2 4MOA dot. The only thing I added was a crane "O" ring to the extractor spring. I also have their lower....OUTSTANDING fit/finish/function......will buy again!   YMMV

LMT M4 w/ standard semi-auto bolt.

No malfunctions, fit/finish is perfect (upper is black, not purple), very satisfied.

I just got mine from Bravo Co.  They are having a sale. Jump on it!

I watched the comments on this site about LMT quality for over a year.  That made my decision easy.

I have an LMT M4 and it is perfect in every way. It is the primary weapon I run at all the training classes I attend (never let me down).

I have two, no surprise to most here. They are just as reliable as any of my Colts.

ETA: And original just as well finished, very deep black wtih no hint of "purple".

10.5" and 16" LMT upper owner checking in. I'm extremely pleased with both of mine. 100% reliability is key for me and so far they haven't let me down.

After I bought my first LMT upper I was so happy with it They're all I buy now.  I've owned several.  Never a problem with any aspect.........finish, function, whatever.  They all sit on Colt lowers.

good luck!

I own a complete LMT 14.5” M4 & 10.5” CQBR. I have been extremely pleased with both of them. Not one single problem. I have even run the 10.5" through a relatively high round count class with zero issues.

I bought a LMT 16" upper last Spring and then a LMT Defender 2000 lower a few months later from the EE.

The fit of the upper with the lower is perfect, not loose or tight, it's better than my other two Colts (6721 and M16A2 clone).

The finish is close enough match for me, it's almost black but not purple.

It functions just like my Colts and I'm happy with it.

I upgraded it with the following components:

KAC M4 RAS & VFG
LMT fixed BUIS & M16 BCG (with rare chromed bolt finish)
KNS pins
Stag Arms ambi selector
Magpul MIAD grip, trigger guard, mag followers & Ranger plates
Vltor CAR Modstock
Aimpoint M2 with KAC mount
Wolff extractor spring & extra power mag springs

I've got a 16" LMT and 14.5" LMT M4 upper.

Both are very very nice, and I have no issues. The 14.5" my buddy bought for personal use in Iraq and served him well, so there is another testament to reliability. For people in the "know" LMT is highly favored as well...

LMT seems to have a high speed low drag halo around it which of course means a market premium... LMT's image makes it perfect for a lazy armchair commando like me, just in case ninjas attack my house.
