Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - lmt barrel what do the markings mean?

My 14.5' barrel which is an lmt reads "5.56 Nato 1/7 CB......I noticed some of the lmt rifles say
"MP 5.56 Nato 1/7 CB" ....and on other rifles I have seen them say CMMP or something to that effect....could someone explain what' CMMP, MP and CB mean? Thanks.

CB=chrome bore

MP=magnafluxed and proof load tested.

I have never seen a CMMP stamp. Perrhaps it was C MP?

ya it was c mp.....is it normal that my lmt 14.5' barrel doesn't say MP?
