i had a kobra sight on one of my ak's before i sold it. i really liked it, but it was made to mount to an ak only.

i'm thinking about getting one for my bushy m4 .

does anyone know if a kobra will co-witness with a fixed front sight and a troy rear?

If you measure the window it looks like it's low enough that a lower 1/3 co-witness might be possible but the projector hump at the back sticks up past the bottom of the window and blocks it.

(been there )

I've got a Kobra with the throw-lever mount.  It completely obscures the sights on my M4 using a fixed front and DPMS fixed rear sight.  Don't think it will work, the Kobra is just to tall.  It's too bad because that dot is just as nice as an Eotech and the thing is built like a tank.

thanks for the replys, another question, is the kobra blocked by a fixed front sight at all?

The rear projector hump sits higher than the sight-line - you can't see the sights at all (that's why you can't co-witness)

Here's an old pic for you (don't have my Kobra any more)

You can see that the window is just right for a lower 1/3 co-witness but there's a big lump at the back which blocks it.
