If you were alone or in a small group and had to survive for an unknown amount of time, going just about anywhere in North America, and no help could be expected, which of the following would you choose to take with you?
You may mix and match also. But you alone will need to carry it. You may have a car, truck, plane, or not. You simply are preparing for anything. This could be an army attacking you, bears trying to eat you, hunting for deer, or anything else you can imagine.

G1/FAL
G3/Cetme
Ak-47/variants
Ak-74/variants
M4/M4gery
M-16/AR-15
.22 (useful for small game to eat)
Mossberg 500/any 12 guage pump
Pistol choice here

Just curious as to what weapons you would choose and why. Also, how much ammo for each weapon?

Regards,
and thanks for playing,
Mortis...

I would take my AR carbine and 1911,I can also sling my 590 as it has a top folding stock. My other weapons are hand outs to family and a couple friends who arent armed and bang the whole collection comes along just in the hands of folks other than myself who I trust.I have 5 ARS and ones my wifes and 2 for buddies who dont have rifles one for my dad believe it or not my mom has her own guns as well as my brother. So personally thats what I would carry and traveling in a group it pays for every one to be armed.Thas why I dont buy a gun unless there is a real need because face it if you have a large collection more than you can carry or hand out to trust worthy people you have stuff you will have to leave behind and if it were me Id destroy what I cant take so they dont fall in the wrong hands.A buddy of my brothers my M14 type as he has army experience with such a weapon and is a very good shot.....looks like hes gonna be the guy who gets dinner.

I'm glad somebody did it.  Didn't feel that I'd been around long enough to pull it off.  I'd take an M4, Tikka T3 Super Varmint in .308, and a Glock 23.  Sounds like we don't know exactly where we're going, what we need, or really any other pertinent details, but I do know I'm tagging along with Krill.

not much need for SHTF guns, but I'd sure like:

The wife and son (plus a couple of baseball mitts and a baseball), along with:

1. a truckload of extra soft toilet paper
2.  a crate of warm socks
3.  matches, 1 each truckload
4.  few good books (including a nice variety of porn)
5.  a sharp knife with whetstone
6.  big box of boot laces
7.  warm blankets/sleeping bags
8.  a case of wild turkey 101
9.  plenty of fishing gear
10.  a nice isolated cave with fresh water nearby in which to store 1-9

Also on the wish list
11. solar powered refrigerator with a keg of beer in it
12.  an extra large box of krispy kreme doughnuts to remind me of better days
13.  the swedish survivalist bikini team

My Polytech M14S strapped over my back, a 20" Gov't profile A2 AR being carried, and my XD-40 on my side.

Course, my '84 Blazer 4x4 (if gas will be available) and all the other essentials.

WIZZO
