well, as discussed in another of my posts, http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=241582 i have since opted to remove the jard trigger.  when i switched to another ammo with a higher velocity the trigger allowed for double fires routinely.  i called brownells and they took it back - no questions asked.  i ordered in the new chip mccormick 3lb. two stage flat trigger system.

i like the jard trigger and might consider using one in the future with a higher weight - maybe that'll help.

i have high hopes for the new trigger.  with a two pound pull on the jard unit i pulled off a .378" group with 40gr nosler bt's.  most of them settled well under 3/4 MOA.

i'll provide feedback on the chip mccormick unit.  apparently you just drop the "box" unit in and go.  we'll see.

good shooting!

jard:

http://www.jardinc.com/ARtrigger.htm

my two stage CMC is set at a few ounces for the first stage/take up and 3lbs. for the second stage.  it feels extremely clean when breaking and is very consistent where the jard didn't have much consistency.  the jard was a single stage trigger set at 2 lbs.  both triggers i double checked with my trigger pull guage.  i liked the slightly lighter pull, but the CMC has a really good feel.  i bought the straight trigger rather than the curved and i have a tendency now to contact the trigger closer to imy fingertip.  i like this better than the alternative.  i have a natural notion to run my digit clear through the trigger hole and grasp and clinch my fist to fire the weapon so the longer length helped me.

i'm preparing a webpage to display some of the guns i've built or had modified.  you'll have to check it out.  the jard was ok for bench shooting or varmits like i was using but too light and "scary" for anything else - besides, i couldn't make it work properly so it had to go regardless.  the CMC is fantastic!

this can be copied and pasted into your browser.  it's my page of photos.  check out the "gun stuff" and the flat trigger 24" barrel colt is the unit i've been working on.

thanks!
