and remember it too comes off...best applied to a heated surface. The best use for PS is refinishing your mags.

Does the dry lube film that comes stock on Bushies wear off? How many shots to strip it down? It isn't neccessary, is it?

I have had success with Birchwood Casey aluma-black. Its the consistency of water when applied. Be sure to clean the area with gunscrubber type cleaner. Then when applying the Aluma-Black use a medical grade q-tip style applicator (regular q-tips have lanolin in them...not good to get oily stuff involved in finishing work). Dab a lot of the stuff on like a puddle and let sit for 5-10 minutes and repeat several times until you like the color match. This actually reacts with the surface...it is really resistent to gunscrubber type cleaners later. Mind you, they will get it off...but you have to work hard to get the scratch to show back up.

I use the Birchwood-Casey Alumnum touch-up pens in flat black. They are a few bucks at most sporting good place. They work pretty well.

It really is a factor of how many times you insert and remove the mags AND how anal you are about them looking new...Some folks just like the"used" look, I don't [naughty] I forgot you don't need to strip them, just a through degreasing before applying PS. There's alot of info w/pixs here on ARFCOM...do a search.

Not that it matters, but the name of it is Perma-Slik.....not Perma-Silk. http://www.advantexcom.net/~quino/mags/
