Hello,

I got a "Bushmaster" pre-ban upper the other day.  But I do not think its a true "bushmaster" upper.

The finish is not the same with other Bushmaster uppers I have seen, and there are no markings on the upper or barrel to identify it as an Bushmaster.

the only markings on the barrel are stamped:
5.56
SS.

Help..  I'll try to post a picture later on today of the upper.

thanks!

A Bushmaster barrel would be marked   B  5.56 SS. The SS is stainless steel, if the barrel is black/teflon coated then it is probably an Olympic Arms.

Looks like you have an Olympic Arms barrel.  A Bushmaster barrel would have the markings B MP 1/7 or 1/9 NATO.  Bushmaster's flattop upper receivers do not have any markings.  At least the ones that I have do not.  The A2s do.

This is good info.  I've just built an A2 upper with an Armalite upper reciever I got an a trade and a used Hbar type 20" barrel.  Though I couldn't figger out who made the barrel as it only has 5.56 stamped on it and it is not cromed.  Based on what I've read here it sounds like it is an Oly barrel.  Thanks for the info.
