i would like to know if their is a certain .223 round that i could use in my xm15e2s m4. or is it not possible to go hunting for whitetail deer with that type of rifle and actually kill the deer.

It will kill a whitetail,just don't try it in NYS.

I've used Federal Vital Shok 60gr. Nosler, will often drop a whitetail in it's tracks with proper shot placement.
