What kind of handguards do you have?

That makes a huge difference ins determining what you need to attach a bipod.

Post a pic of your AR if you can.

I guess you didn't notice what country the OP is from (Canada) which means that English is probably not his first language. Cut the guy a little slack and don't be such an a-hole. Kapeesh?

Yah know half of Canda does speak English as a first language and the other half is required by law to be taught English in school? And from the time I've been in Quebec they spoke English pretty good.

Come one, guys! Cut the guy a break, even the best of us has had a typo at least once;

THe main question would be how much you willing to spend; you could start small by getting a Colt type bipod that attaches to the barrel, like a USGI M16 bipod, which is made of stamped metal.

SOmething like this is easy to find at Gunbroker or eBay and you don't need any adapters or a picatinny rail to attach it to the weapon.

However, the major concensus is that most AR15 owners have rails on their weapons and have a more stronger bipod, such as a Harris 1A2 bipod or a Versa-Pod bipod:

Versa-Pod with adapter.

Harris Engineering 1A2 Bipod.

I know most people I know have Harris bipods on their rifles and I am one that will get one installed on my AR.

But whetever you choose a harris or just a regular USGI metal bipod, is whatever suits you better.

I actually went out today looking for a Harris and couldn't find the one I wanted at the shop I go to frequently.  But they did have Rocky Mount.    Now setting them side by side, they look exactly the same.  So I bought the #5 harris adapter, and the rocky mount bipod.   Got home and slapped it on in 5 minutes.   I like the harris/versa-pod style better myself.
