I think it'll work mighty good.  You might want to consider this:  If you're short, then the A2 stock might be too long for you.  I want to change my A2 to an A1 soon as the A1 stock is somewhat shorter.  If you're over 6' then it doesn't matter.  MJD

im 5'8'' give or take. but im in Marine ROTC so at some point im going to have to use the A2 stock. the total of the rifle minus mags and sling is going to be $843.

-"BCM - 20" Barreled Upper Receivers (1/7 Twist) 20 inch Chrome Lined Bore and Chamber, 5.56 NATO, Government Profile,  with 4150 barrel steel, 1/7 Twist.  These are built with an T-marked Flat Top with factory M4 feedramps, and the proper Mil-Spec taller F-marked forged front sight base.  All barrels are HPT (High Pressure Tested) and MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspected) per Mil-Spec. You'll do fine with the A2 stock.  I'm 5'10" and I don't have any problems.  My gf is in Army ROTC here in pa and she don't have any problems either.  She's shorter than you.  Word of advice...unless you really want to piece the AR together, look for a like new Colt Sporter HBAR preban Blue label.  Even though they're supposedly worth more in "banned" states, you can find one for around $700-$800.  Its all Colt, so its a top of the tier weapon, and will have everything you'll need....unless you wanted to mount a bayonet......will only have a A2 flash hider, no bayolug.  Either that or spend a little more for a new Bushmaster.  It'll run great right out of the box.

ive only heard the best about Bravo. well money doesnt seem to be that bad, as Miami U decided to send me a check for 5800 bucks yesterday. i guess i paid for something or FAFSA did before my ROTC scholarship was activated. no i feel a little less guilty about splurging.

What I outlined in red, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but blue label Colts will have a sear block and will NOT accept standard USGI FCG parts.  (The no bayo lug is the least of your worries)  While for most- these commercial changes won't be noticed, one never wants to limit their options.  Personally if it won't accept mil-spec parts and allow me the option of blowing 7-9K on registered drop in auto sear... I don't want the thing!

As to the original question, I didn't notice anything on that set up which would seem like a bad idea.  Most important is that you like it when it's yours.

Dude, don't keep that thing in your dorm unless it is locked up three times tight...That is just what we need a story about some drunk college fool coming into your room, then in the papers the next day, "I didn't think it was loaded, I was just trying to show off so I could get laid."  Not to mention, I'd bet the school has some regulation about firearms on campus.

Sorry, man but college dorms and guns are a bad mix.

When you say, "dorm" it implies you live on campus in a college dorm/residence hall.

If you are off-campus in an apartment or whatnot, great.

Yes get this one.  Better in every way.  Don't ever worry about dealing with Paul @ Bravo, he is one of the best!

Also, although some here don't like it (too traditionalist IMO) consider putting an adjustible stock on there.  I too, am 5'8" and only going to get shorter...much better/versatile than the WAY TOO long a2 stock.

Very functional. I'm 6' and never seem to put the stock in the same position twice. It's fun to play with the different positions while shooting.

just to clear up any uneasyness, i meant that i was gonna only have it in the dorm until i can get a place for it, like on the guys off campus or maybe the armory at the unit. and while its in the room its in the locked gun bag inside my locked footlocker. and i dont have any ammunition whatsoever.
