the title says it all..now give me the rundown
Some of the best AR15's out there (IMHO). Fit and finish are second to none (again IMHO).
Good stuff. They have great quality, and are often slightly cheaper than comparable manufacturers (like Bushmaster, Armalite, etc). I'd have no hesitation in buying RRA. |
--pretty good
i noticed that they wear kinda rough though, but they are great for the $$$s |
best ar-15 for the money. I would say best ar-15 in general but i have not shot all of the other ones. I have had mine for 2 years and put 3000rnds thru mine, not one problem.

The quality and service of thier product is good, they should dump Nancy from the office.
I don't understand why any of these companies set up in Illinois. |
thanks for the info i had heard really good things and just wanted to seal the deal..no negative comments..just purchased a new RRA upper
They are the shiz-nit. The heat. The cats ass.
Here is how I rank the major four. Colt Armalite Rock River Arms Bushmaster I have a RRA Elite CAR A4. It runs just as good as my Bushmaster M4/Izzy and Colt 6721. The fit and finish is just as good. I love my RRA and I will be building a RRA .458 Socom soon. As soon as I get my tax refund I am ordering the .458 Socom upper to put on my RRA lower I have. |
Some companies sell the accuwedge to tighten the fit between your upper and lower recievers.
Rock River Arms sells rifles that fit together properly. |
I enjoy mine and very reliable. RRA is midrange on prices but you get a top quality rifle for your money. Not to mention those 1911 clones they make are pretty sweet also.
I'm Tired of hearing about them !!!!! Talk about something else !
I think they are the new Bushmaster. Bushmaster used to offer a quality product that was functionally similar to the Colts minus a few details that some don't want to pay for.
Bushmaster's prices have since risen to almost rival those of Colt, and RRA has stepped in to fill the void between the junk (DPMS, Olympic) and the top tier (Bushmaster, Colt). They offer a good product at a good price but do compromise in some areas in order to maintain that price. My second choice, after a Colt and presuming factory built, would be a Rock River. |
There is a design method behind this. The lowers are built very slightly larger in some key areas than others making the fit very snug. The finish on RRA guns is really impressive. They clearly take the finish part seriously, and have a lustrous, jet black look. More so than the other big houses do. - or so it would seem. |

I have an A2 Standard and are quite happy with it, I don't think you could go wrong with one....
Right type of workers and sub-contractors are there David. 5sub However, as we all now know, the wrong type of state government is also there. Gonna be interesting to see this crap unfold. |
I have 2 and am quite satisfied. Fit and finish are top quality.
Can we get those stickied threads for people to review each manufacturer now |
I'm glad to see people like Rock River. I recently bought a Rock River and I look forward to taking it to the range.
And yet they continue to vote for Blagdosonovabich for gov.... |
and Barak Osama for senator! (according to "Ted-I'll-have-another-Kennedy") |

damn fine guns. Usually a bit cheaper than Bushie, tight fit, clean finish. I've put a couple thousand rounds thru my A4, and it's run well. (jammed only once, after 400 rounds of crappy Wolf ammo and no cleaning)
Their local rep, North Texas, gets kinda itchy when talking to people
about uppers for MG's. I also believe they think chrome lined barrels are a big deal. |
They are the non-custom rifle of choice for NRA and CMP Highpower.
Mine took me to Master, and will probably take me to Distinguished and High Master. |
I can see why you are clearly confused. |
I have two RRA's carbines and haven't managed to break either one yet and I have tried ! Which speaks volumes for their quality.
Rock River sucks!!!
Actually, I'm just pulling your chain. Rock River offers by far the best bang for the buck. Seeing as I can't stand rifles that say "Law Enforcement Only", RRA is my choice for an out of the box AR. Most people say it's the ABC's. (Armalite, Bushmaster, Colt) I say it's CRAB's. (Colt, Rock River, Armalite, Bushmaster) |
I think they are good rifles. I don't understand the hysteria though. When they came out they were the best bang for the buck, price increases over the years have brought them on par with everyone else.
I've been very pleased with mine and am in the process of building another.
If you fined one buy it !
Missed out on a RRA Elite this weekend at the local gun store --never again |
Rock River seems to have a very tightly put together product that I feel good about. I am getting ready to get my second. And their 1911's are fantastic! As far as being low priced, have you seen the latest catalog? Some models approaching $3000. You can't go wrong with Rock River, though I would wait a bit on the 308...

Can we just have a sticky that says RRA, Colt, LMT, Bushmaster, Armalite and so on are rifles that are worthwhile to own? I mean its to the point that these guns are pretty close to the same level as each other that we will never hae a clear winner to this famous question of which one is better. Also the best rifle is the one that is the most reliable. If I owned a Colt that had issues Ide sell it and try another colt or another manufacturer. Every manufacturer has lemmons. You just got to weed them out and run alot of ammo through the gun to gain a confidence in it. I dont care WTF it says on the side of it as long as its reliable. Pick the gun that offers features you want in a rifle and the price you are looking for and test that rifle to see if its a keeper.

I sold a Colt Target Sporter and bought a RRA Car4. I have to say it was one of the best firearms swaps I ever made. I much prefer the 16" barrel/flattop configuration of the RRA. But beyond that, the RRA just oozes quality. It is tight as a drum and shoots great. Everytime I go to the range with it I smile. It's accurate and handles great. The gun just feels RIGHT when it fires and cycles. It even sounds better than the Colt did. The trigger is WAY better than the Colt trigger, too. I had a little issue with my order -- confusion between my dealer and RRA -- but RRA cleared it up and made it right. Seems like an A-1 company. My take: You can't go wrong with a RRA. |

1) Bagofshit has only been in one term and he's coming up for re-election this year. 2) Chicago voted both of them in. Don't get me started on Chicago. WIZZO BTW, RRA is some good stuff, Maynerd. |
