Well i want to know. Does anyone got a video i can watch or something.

Simple, wear a pair of pants or jeans that have belt loops. Hold your rifle at waist level with your left hand on the hanguard and the receiver against your side, at the belt line. Pull one of your belt loops through the trigger guard and hold the belt loop with your finger.

Slightly pull the rifle forward with your left hand. This will cause the belt loop to tighten up and fire the rifle. The recoil will pull the rifle back thus re-setting the trigger as constant forward pressure with the left hand makes the belt loop pull the trigger again.... repeat.

The key is to ease the rifle forward and maintain constant forward pressure. The recoil vs slight forward pressure create a "cycle" that if done correctly, will give "full-auto" like fire.

Will some CAREFUL practice, you will get the hang of it and be somewhat "area" accurate. I do it on occasion but it is a waste of good ammo if you ask me.

If you have good muscle control, like you should have to fire accuratly anyway, you can bump fire from the shoulder and be somewhat accurate with it.

It takes a fairly decent trigger pull. I cant do it on my bushmaster but on all 4 other ARs I can fairly well. If bumping from the shoulder a VFG will help alot.

video.google.com/videopreviewbig?q=%22Shooting+video%22+playable%3Atrue&time=0&page=1&docid=2802910509347650650&urlcreated=1124709062&chan=Uploaded&prog=Shooting+video&date=Mon+Aug+15+2005+at+5%3A27+AM+PDT#

This is me bumping my .45acp Cav 15 AR the .45 bumps very well as it has sufficient recoil to reset the trigger without much playing around. I can reliably dump short bursts or even full mags. All shots were kept on a silhouette at 65 yards in this video. All were center mass hits within about a 10" group.

That's how I learned. Thumb through the trigger guard, hooked in belt loop. Pull forward on the rifle and keep steady pressure.

The belt loop method is okay to learn from I guess but pretty pointless. A much easier method is to use a T handle wrench on the trigger and hold that while pulling the rifle forward. You can walk your shots onto target using this method. The shoulder bumpfiring is the best though, if you can figure out how to do it you can actually hit your targets pretty easily.

Don't be a girlieman, just hold your trigger finger in position you wimp. I've never needed a belt loop or otherwise. It's called upper body strength.

Wanna aim while you bump fire?

Here ya go, with video. Easy to build, even a retard can use it (cough).

Q. How do you simulate the level of marksmanship used by Iraqi insurgents?

A. Bump fire your weapon.

Impossible to aim a weapon properly while bump firing.

there ya go. I fixed it. It is possible to aim while bump firing. Good enough for suppressive fire into a concentrated enough area to keep heads down. Which is all a FA gun can do.

Well you must be very skilled. I have fired tens of thousands of rounds through M16, M60, M249 and M2 machineguns in the military. You do not have to "bounce" the entire weapon like you do when you bump fire, in many cases a bipod, mount or T&E are still required to be very accurate. I have tried bump firing a semi auto carbine and found it to be a total waste of ammunition. You results may vary.
That's all I am going to say about it.

Registered allen wrench works well for making un-aimed noise... the so-called "bump-fire machine" by Swingset does a good job for those whoo want to aim.

13 year old warrior stated that the Iraqis were shooting the AKs from the hip, and he claims the AK-47 "witch is like a 40inch wide pattern. at a 100yards" implying that the AK is a 40MOA rifle when properly fired from 100 yd. But in all seriousness, my AK (Vepr K 7.62x39) will hold 4" or tighter groups at 100 yd when fired from the prone/sitting supported position using Wolf 122gr FMJ. It will hold tighter groups using better ammo.

Notice I never said anything about the AK47.
Iraqi insurgents have been known to use whatever is at their disposal, to include the G3, AK47, AK74, MP44 and others. All of them will be completely inaccurate when fired from the hip as they typically do.

Whats the difference?...............in this case, about $11,400

If anyone was to be called the authority on bump firing from the shoulder, this is the guy. Rickinvegas was my inspiration to learn to bump fire from the shoulder, and I've become quite good at it with lots and lots and lots of practice.. Able to keep all rounds on a Shoot n see target @ 50 yd

Wow, we've been blessed with the wit of the Algonquin Round Table of thread shitters.

Pay attention guys, these two fun gun snobs know everything there is to know, and they're passing judgment. Might wanna write this advice down, for reference.

Or, you can print out what they tell you about how to enjoy your rifle, and do something creative with it, like wipe your ass.

Your version is way more accurate.. I'd say I've burned about 4000 rounds learning to do this, and some general plinking as well. It is alot of fun, and surprisingly accurate once you get the hang of it. I still get a little bounce from time to time, but even then its not bad enough to really fuck my accuracy up. Those shoot n see targets are what, 8" across? Not bad at 50yd

Whoever it was that said shoulder bumping isnt accurate...keep practicing. It's not accurate because you don't know how to do it.

Nah. If someone can get that good at it, more power to them.
Bump firing maybe ok for fun for some if it floats their boat, but it should never be used in any kind of serious shooting.

I'll stick with the way Uncle Sam taught me to shoot, thanks.

I've never heard of anyone doing it for any other reason than it's fun....but I guess somewhere, someone might be dumb enough to think it's a combat tactic.

If I use my "bumper" device from the shoulder, I'm as accurate at 25 yards with a Beretta Storm as I am with a real FA Uzi, sometimes even more so. I can keep all 20 rounds in an IPSC target, and do it over and over again...which is pretty cool I think.

It's just having fun with your gun. Lots of guys get their g-strings bunched in their mangina over bump firing. It's just recreation, I don't understand the hostility but then I'm not a "serious" guy. Seems like all serious guys do is piss themselves at other people's fun, which is no way to live if you ask me.

Let me continue to add to what Zack is saying..........When we are talking about "practicing", what we are really doing (and correct me if I'm wrong in your case Zack) is building muscle memory. Muscle memory is what turns this into a shooting technique rather than just a gimmick.

Here is a video that has been posted before but it demonstrates what I'm talking about.........

Bump fire with mag change

This vid was taken by a friend after a friend of his claimed that bumping could only be done sporadically with limited consistancy. He wanted me to dump two mags in quick succession. You can see that I am totally relying on muscle memory. I'm not thinking about bumping the weapon but rather totally concentrating on aiming it. This is what we are talking about when we say you have to practice. Another thing you will notice is that I'm not "pulling the weapon forward" with my foregrip. In order to bump consistantly (as least for me), I have to pull the trigger not the foregrip. In other words, I'm actually not doing anything different than "regular" rapid firing except that I guarantee that I will put more rounds in the black than someone dumping a mag by just squeezing the trigger as fast as they can.
Link Posted: 8/24/2005 11:33:37 PM EDT
rickinvegas I cant come anywhere near that. How is your trigger set up? I imagine it's not very damned heavy to get a rate of fire like that, also are you using a heavy buffer?
Link Posted: 8/24/2005 11:44:01 PM EDT
Seriously I thought the video of the M16 than the AR was a fake....thats insane that you can actually do that and that GOOOD!

I think I'll save that for you rich guys that can buy the ammo needed for the practice it would take to learn how to do that.

You've never shown me that one. That is awesome. I'm not quite that good yet. I still have to use a slight pull on the vfg, but I'm getting to where I can call my bursts. 3rd 5rd 10rd etc. Full dumps are still a challenge for me, but I've found I get them when I don't even try.

All my triggers are factory Olympic. Not too heavy, not too light. What you really want is "smoooooth". I did a "15 min" trigger job on one of my rifles a long time ago and it screwed up the timing completely. Switched everything back right away. I'm sure other triggers will work too but I just go with what works for me. As for the buffers, I always put the heaviest ones I can find, especially in the pistol cal guns.

I've seen some of your videos. You do very well especially given how much your .45 knocks you around. I think I want one of those.
Link Posted: 8/25/2005 11:02:39 PM EDT
The 45 setup is pretty easy to bump, I occasionally override the disconnector though and the hammer follows and has to be manually cycled to recock. My trigger is stock on the Cav lower but has a 9oz buffer IIRC. My bushmaster and Mega lowers wont bump at all. I think I need to slick em up a little. I figure I'll just polish, not change any angles.
