anyone have any suggestions? doesnt glaser or corbon make .223 rounds?

Why don't you head over to the Ammo forum - there is a list tacked up on the best defensive loads for a multitude of calibers. Loads were picked based on PERFOMRANCE that is measurable - not quakery or gunshop B.S.

Yeah the Quakers have always been a little bit light on their use of weaponry.

Gee, I always wanted to pay as much to shoot my AR as I do to shoot my .50BMG... [;)] How does anyone afford enough of that to ensure proper function, practice, etc.?!?! It may be great stuff, but I guess I'll never know - I need hundreds (prefer more) of rounds through any weapon with my carry ammo BEFORE it becomes my carry ammo. I couldn't afford to do that with this stuff unless I sold all of my guns BUT my carry guns...
