Free float tubes can go longer, I find 9" to short.

On a Mid-Length gas system:
A 9" rail makes it up to the gas system where the Front Sight Post would begin. Ideal for use with a Front Sight Post. A 10" rail covers about half of most low-profile gas blocks. Some fit almost perfectly. An 11" rail covers most low-profile gas blocks entirely. A 12" rail covers all low-profile gas blocks. |

Just chop the FSB or go with a low-pro gas block and then pick a full 12" rail.
Going with the 12.0 FSPM and keeping your front site tower (as suggested above) is less useful since you won't be able to mount a light at 12 o'clock with it. |
