Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - hammer spring question

I'm just about ready to assemble, but my parts kit might have included a defective hammer spring.  My spring lays almost flat if laid down on a table.  there is a slight angle to it, but not nearly as much as in the picture in the instructions.  do i have a problem?

i actually just assembled mine a few minutes ago, i did notice that the spring didnt match the directions, but it went in ok, i think it was the hardest step
