The GG&G multi-flex base and ring work very well and I feel it's the fastest from going from the rifle to your head.  GG&G multi-flex base and ring retails for around $220.00.  Other good mounts from Larue and ARMS (#29) itself that run a few bucks more.  As for inexpensive gear for NV, kinda hard to find true quality for cheap prices unless you keep an eye out on the EE.  Here is a pic of the GG&G system shown with an ARMS #29L.  Hope this helps.
