Howdy,

My Tacpoint arrived yesterday.  I like it so far, but the flip up caps just suck ass.  Where can I find decent replacements?  Do the Aimpoint caps fit?

Thanks,

-skuld

Before the braying of barnyard animals begins:
I do not expect this to be as durable/good as an Aimpoint, I expect it to work decently on my 9mm plinking upper, and if I like using a red dot scope, then I may save up and buy an Aimpoint.

I'm not sure if the Aimpoint caps would fit, they probably would, but you could always pick up some Butler Creek ones.

Just curious, exactly what is your beef with the Tacpoint caps?  You say you dont like them, but didnt specify what it is exactly that bothers you about them?

sorry.

They fall off when I try to open them.  The front one falls off if I look at it funny.  It does not go on far enough and it's very loose.

skuld,
You do not have them mounted all the way on. Close the flip up cap and push on the cap untill it pops on to the ring grove cut into the sight. And the aimpoint caps do not fit IIRC .

I tried that, all it did was cut most of  the plastic ring off the inside of the front flip up cap.  :(

But I'll try it again after I get home this evening.

Update us later with what you find. It should work out ok.

It took waaaay more pressure than it should've, but I did finally manage to get them on good.  I was a rch from grabbing my bfh, but that ended up not being neccesary.
