Hey I've decided to buy either an eotech or an aimpoint but I am beyond confused about the different models. I was wondering if anybody could let me know a good link to find a description of various models or post some info here. Thanks

This is the best article on the EO Techs discussing their models & options: http://groups.msn.com/TheMarylandAR15ShootersSite/eotech1.msnw written by SMGLee from this board. There are several options for Aimpoints the most popular being the M2 and the ML2. This is a recent thread discussing the merits of the two optics. In addition to the information provided by Forest, the manufacturer's model and descriptions page can be found by following these links: Aimpoint: http://www.aimpoint.com/products/prodpres3.htm EOTech: http://www.eotech-inc.com/tactical/specs.html

Here is two EOTechs. The 551 which uses two N cell batteries and the 552 which uses the AA batteries. There is a story behind those sights.

The quick version, those sights went out with a bunch go fast, down and dirty, really nasty kind of guys to Afghanstan. They return two sights after they return to the States for EOTech to do an after action report of the equipment. What they did with the sight is evident on the abuse you see on them and the tales that go along with it is another story all together. Over a thousand EOTech are in service with the Army SF units all around the world. not counting all other units in the SOCOM chain of command another picture of an EOTech in country
