How much does the temperature shift the point of impact for .223 if its hotter or colder than when you sighted in ?Or is it so little that it doesn't matter till a certain distance and what is that distance?

well it will change it a certain moa.  How much depends on the temp difference and i would imagine a lot such as barrel steel, thickness, ect.  out to 200 yds it probably wont matter for hunting, but if your competing at long range youll probably want to test fire to check your poi.

It will vary a LOT depending on the barrel profile and metal. Forged barrels and cryogenic treating can help stabilize a barrel with a lighter profile, but as a general rule, a heavier barrel will maintain POI better than a lighter barrel as they heat up. I have a stainless bull barreled Colt that doesn't know the difference between hot or cold. It's for sale, BTW
