most detachable carry handles are like $70ish from webstores but if you google shopping carry handles you find a bunch for $25ish that say they are for m4/ar15 rifles.
is there a difference? should i be looking at the ones with good brand names or does the quality of these generally stay the same.
i have a spikes lower on the way for my first build and was gonna throw one of these on there until i can save enough for a decent optic.
thanks

Beware the airsoft or el-cheapo carry handles.  You can search here in theequipment exchangeand find some take-offs fairly cheap.  Since you are talking about using an optic, I am assuming an RDS (Aimpoint, EOTech, etc).  If so, I would recommend going ahead and getting your BUIS and using that in the interim.  That way you are familiar with the sight, have it zeroed in, etc.  I am a fan of the fixed BUIS.

What he said /\

You can find a good quality used carry handle in the $40.00 range.  Much much better then the el-cheapos you get on ebay - they are made for toys.

Agreed.

Either go with a fixed rear like a DD/LaRue, etc. or a fixed rear/riser like the RRA Dominator2.

Personally, I'd rather not spend $50 on a sight just to ditch it and spend more money later........on another sight!

The cheap ones are cast aluminum, no forged.  The sight parts are of poor quality, leaving a lot of slop between adjustments.  I've got one that I can move two more clicks down once the sight body is bottomed out...not good (no, it's not set up for IBZ, I know what that is).

A forged carry handle typically has raised forge marks on one of the sides of the forging near the back.

Yep, nothing pisses me off more than airsoft crap.  Anytime you google anything, airsoft crap comes up.
