The cone on the crush washer points towards the muzzle correct?

The small dia side towards the gun and the larger side toward the muzzle device.

If it matters any either way will probably work.  I say this because my first build I did not know any better and went coned in towards the hider.  Second one was done coned end towards breach end.  Both indexed fine.  But I would go with the reccomended way suggested by everyone above simply for uniformity sake .

Well, I grabbed my rifle, pulled off the Phantom FH, slapped on a new Crush Washer in the proper direction and called it a day.  Hey, gave me an excuse to use the new barrel vise jaws I had bought!  Beside, I had pictures in my mind of QUIB staring me with a disapproving look shaking a finger at me like a stern father reproaching his child...and I just could NOT live with that!

Thanks QUIB, yer one kewel operator!

Can you only use a crush washer once???

I just installed a brake and could not get
the ports up. They did not send me new washer with
brake  So I used the old one.

Guess I should order new one.

Yeah, they're supposed to be changed. I made the same mistake with my first FF tube install, wouldn't index correctly. I ordered a handful and took the opportunity to stock up on other spare parts
