I'd check the EE. I picked up a leupy Varix-III 1.5x5 for dog hunting. I like the lower settings for thick brush country. Just a thought.

I have been hooked on the Leupolds. Their VXI scopes are a cheap way to get into one and the glass on them is pretty good. Even the cheap once have a lifetime warranty and are made in the US. For a lower power scope you may want to look at a 2-7X. I am become a big fan of the 4.5-14X. You have the 4.5X for close up and the 14X for hunting clear cuts or longer shots. Where in WA are you? I am near the WA/ID border.

A 3x9 is what I use when I go to AZ. I wouldn't go with any more magmification than that. When they come in the are often close.
Go Go Varmint is a good board for coyote hunting.  Unlike the majority of people here, those people actually shooting living things on a regular basis.

Burris 3-9x 40mm is $200 and there's a promo that includes a spotting scope or binocs

Mueller 4-16X50 with illuminated reticle is what I have on my varmint rig. The higher power makes the longer shots easier and the ill. reticle is great for dusk/night. Great scope for about $200.

IOR M2 4x right now we have them for $333.50 this is a savings of a -161.50.
 CQB RET.  Dragunov RET.  MP9 RET.  If you would like more power the IOR 6x New in the box IOR 6x 1" tube w/ the MP8 RET these are the last one! Normally $376.00 but now we are taking off -$37.60 making it $338.40. They are not on the web you need to call. I second the recommendation for a burris 3-9. I have 3 of thier scopes. I also own very high end scopes costing 4-7 times as much and they compare favorably. I am always pleased when I look threw a burris and remember I didn't spend 1000+ on the thing.

Leupolds are nice. You can get a new 3-9 for $200. I have yet to see anything comparable for that price. American made too!

Nah, got one for $180 at a sporting goods store and two more at a gun shop for like $230. I averaged a little. Wally World probably has good deals though.
