i recently bought a post ban colt match target A2 rifle on auction arms. in the picture it looks like the upper has an A by the rear drum sight. my bushmaster has an A on it. i thought that all colt's were stamped C M, are some factory colt's marked different? the gun is in 99% and is all colt, but from the pic it looks like an A. thanks Billy

The "splintered A" is for Anchor Harvey.
Colt, Bushmaster, Diemaco, DPMS, RRA, Oly, and "JT Distributing" have all been using Anchor Harvey forgings for awhile.
