Just started seeing these on Ebay, in three colors.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Tactical-Bipod-Grip-Aimpoint-Trijicon-Eotech-RAS-CB_W0QQitemZ6589175321QQcategoryZ36071QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

(search for bipod).   Newbie seller wants $55 each plus $12 shipping.

Anyone tried one?   Is it cheap crap like I suspect?

Link to Grip pod Clone

I don't think these Chinese Knock-off will support 300+ pounds, like the real one do.

The real ones - there are 2 models - one in aluminum, and another synthetic or plastic --- cost about $250 or more.

It comes as no surprise the Airsoft crowd got a clone done.

I wouldn't buy that crap just on principle. They're ripping off American manufacturers. I'd rather not have a a product that have a cheap Chinese version of it. Why it's just un-American.

yeah, tell me about it, but we have to be fair to the chineese and let them rape the US Blind so they can take the hundreds of billions to build their army to rival ours....hr

Don't forget, they're supporting the US govt. To the tune of $2,000,000,000 a day.  Well, they let us 'borrow' it so we can buy the stuff we need today.

No telling what would happen if they stopped.

It's funny that they can't come up with these ideas themselves and build quality products when they do have the ideas.  This product is novel, but it only costs about $2 to produce, probably about that much more to package and market it.  It should sell for $20.  That's why the Chinese are selling it for so much, the price of the American version is uber-inflated.

Well, the picture they show is either a picture of an actual Grippod or an excellent copy of one. Although the actual Grippod (even the polymer) has aluminium reinforcement on the bipod legs and I doubt this does for $55.

If this thing is a picture of their own copy and not a ripped off picture of a real Grippod, I wonder how long it will be before you see gunshow guys selling the $55 Chinese knock-off as the real deal?

It seems we all agree that the price of the knock-off is ridiculously high.

But is the price of the original really "uber-inflated?"

Granted it is high, but American R&D costs $$$, as do American machinists. I know this topic has been done to death, but the price for the original is probably fair for an American company launching a new product that requires fairly extensive machine work.

Or maybe I'm off-base?

I thought the real deal was a nice accessory, but too darn expensive for what it was.

I don't need one that supports 300 llbs, just 30 lbs would be fine, and not break from moderate use.   If this knockoff, even if designed for airsoft, can meet my requirements, I'm interested.

I wouldn't send a plug nickel to this Ebay seller though, obviously he's a ripoff artist.   Maybe if a few more sellers, with decent feedback start selling them, I'll give one a try.

Maybe instead of marrying an American girl and getting a pricey wife, you could just pay a Chinese whore $3 to toss your salad.  Get all your money to China as quickly as possibe.
