Mine is being mounted on a Surefire M73. I am going to use YHM's 1/2" riser plus the mount that comes with the Tacpoint. Since RSR has not received their shipment of Tacpoints yet, I can't say for sure this will cowitness exactly as you indicate, but I would expect it will get you close. The YHM riser is like $10 or $12. |

The cheapest riser you can get and a high cheap 30mm weaver scope ring.
Riser-$15 Ring $10 for two and you only need one. $25. Or buy the Arms M68 mount + spacer or the cantiliver spacer that way when your red-dot-thingee dies you'll have a good mount for the Aimpoint you should buy to replace it with. |

You are going to have a tough time co-witnessing on the M73 no matter what you mount the scope in. The M73 deck is lower than the flat-top, and you will need some bassardized setup.

How low is it exactly? The standard Aimpoint mounts 9and copies) should put the irons in the lower third when mounted on the lattop. The irons should still be relatively low in the sight picture when mounted on the M73. |

Grant has a pic on here somewhere with a ruler behind it. I'm thinking between 3/8ths to 1/4. I didn't measure mine at the time. This height difference is by design. It allows the mounting of the PEQ devices.

I already knew it was designed lower than the flattop for mounting a LAM. I was just commenting on how it really isn't that low and should be fine with any of the taller Aimpoint mounts. |

I owned one of the airsoft knights copy cantilever, and there is nothing wrong with them for a dedicated plinker, mounting a plinking optic such as the tacpoint...
they are a good deal for the money. |

That's what I went with. I picked one up on Ebay for $37. My Tac-point is going on a 9mm flat top upper for bowling pins and steel plates. With the money I have saved, I may still have enough cash laying around to get in on the ACOG group buy.

I just put my Tacpoint (using supplied mount) on a YHM 1/2 riser and it co-whitnesses just fine on my flat top. Cost was $11.00.

I'll stick to EOTech for those other "reactive" targets that return fire. Besides, everyone knows that EOTechs are WAY better than Aimpoints anyway!

Per C4's recomendation, I bought an airsoft / KAC knock off mount for my tacpoint. It is obviously not the same quality as KAC or ARMS or anything else that is a true mil-spec mount. However, it is made of aluminum and not "pot metal". And it only cost me $29. Not a bad deal at all.
Thanks for the advice Grant! Now I can afford to buy a LaRue QR for my EOTech and the magnifier when it comes out.

So if you have a fixed front sight how do you use it for plinking if you do not have the dot at least egaul to sit on top of the post?
