do you guys think this would be ok to shoot in a 5" springfield xd9? I thought that new handguns can withstand the +p+ no problem, but i just got scared when i noticed the "sub machine guns ammo"

There are threads about this all over the place, search for hirtenburger +p+ on google.
Everybody says you can shoot a few rounds, but they arent ment to shoot +p+ exclusively.

Thanks. I know this is kind of not on the topic of ar15s, but i find myself poking around this site way too often. Just figured i spend so much time here i might as well ask here.

9mm submachinegun ammo is often loaded too hot for use in most pistols. With "submachinegun" in the listing I would take a pass on this for use in a pistol. I suspect it says "submachinegun" ammo so that when you blow up your pistol you don't call Widener's to complain.

Yup, I agree with Aimless. Why risk using SMG ammo on your pistol when there are lots of ammo available for your pistol. Unless you have an MP5, then you could use it.

i wish i had am mp5, im looking at the bobcat. its nice and all, but its not the real thing. i dont know much about the bobcats. i think for the money id rather get another colt or a bushie.

WRONG! This ammo is designed for heavy, fixed, open-bolt sub-guns, such as the STEN, Sterling, Uzi, Madsen, MP38/MP40, and so on. It is NOT designed for closed-bolt guns like the MP5, and in fact, the MP5 is not even rated for +P ammo, which is known to cause bolt cracks.

You guys remember all those times where people complain that an ammo manufacturer won't release high-pressure rounds for civilian sales? This is why.
