Doubletap ammo is now making some damn hot 9mm.

Looking at some high velocities for some GDHP's

Ballistics : 147gr @ 1135fps / 421ft. lbs. from a G17.

Ballistics : 124gr @ 1310fps / 473ft. lbs. from a G17.

Ballistics : 115gr @ 1415fps / 511ft. lbs. from a G17.

Are these velocities too fast for the GDHP bullet design?

IOW, will these velocities open the bullet too fast, and slow it down before optimal penetration?

Would just like your opinion, thanks

Factory Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P clocks just over 1300fps in my full size 9's, so you should be able to use the published gel results for this load as a guide (for that bullet weight anyway).

Thanks, thats what I shoot all the time, never knew it was that fast.

I had heard that the 124gr +P was meant for smaller 9's because the high velocity could cause the problem above.

BTW, I use them in a 92fs and a P85
