Did you break the pin, the takedown pin retaining pin, or the reciever?

if you broke the detent, the spring or the pin no biggie, just replace them. If you broke off the round piece of the lower that has a hole in it that the pin fits thru, it can be welded by a competent aluminum welder, Of course a new lower will be $175 from Bush, it will take you about an hour, and to pull it apart anyway.

if u are talking what I think u are. yes u need a new lower. it is always a good idea to insure that u know exactly what you are doing before doing any type of modification. unless u are made of $$$$$

If the receiver is broken you could try a JP enterprises tensioning pin.
Eventually you may want to replace the receiver. I think you can send it to Bushmaster directly yourself and they can send the replacement back to you without going through an FFL. A new lower receiver is not too expensive. http://www.jpar15.com/i-tenpin.htm |

its not broken just the little lip that held the spring in. |

Your description isn't very helpful. Take your time and give a good description. Get some pictures if you can. What exactly broke?

Sounds like you broke the spring/retaining pin channel(bump on the side of your receiver). If this is the case, don't worry, there is a fix. Start off with some aluminum black to re-color the receiver back to black. Then order a rear take-down wedge pin(the type that screws together to tighten a loose fitting upper/upper). The screw type rear pin does not use the spring/retaining pin, and will be better looking than a nut and bolt. Hope this helps. |
