1) Will these after-market brass deflectors that you can purchase for your AR deflect the shells without causing the rifle to jam or without doing damage to finish of rifle when deflecting the brass ?

2) Are there any better brands of these brass deflectors other than the ones made by TC Accessories ?

http://tc-accessories.com/products.htm

Thanks.

Whats wrong with the brass deflector on the upper?
Do you not want to chip the finish?
If so some people here put some Velcro on the brass deflector.

Want something that will make brass be deflected downward and not so far out from shooting position, close to feet.

Will any of these after-market brass deflectors work on both a right-handed and left-handed ejection ARs ?

Thanks.

I've been thinking of building something similar for my Robarms XCR.  I have a shitload of Kydex and aluminum laying around I just need to find a way to mount it.

Maybe whatever I come up with could give you a couple of ideas.

Kydex would be the way to go if you really wanted something like this.
Cheap, easy to work and you could mold it to snap on to the rail.
Check Ebay for 12" x 12" sheets... probably under $10

I couldn't decide if I should just make it snap on the rail under my scope, make use of the XCR's bolt on factory deflector or a combination of both.  I didn't have any time to play with it last night, but maybe tonight I will make a quick prototype.

Google pic of XCR, not mine.
