: I'd like to know this myself. I bought an old Sp1 and I just purchased a new colt preban upper for it. I haven't recieved the upper yet, is it going to fit? The internals didn't work on the lower, do I need to get a colt lower parts kit, or can I get a RRA parts kit?

There is an adapter for it.... A quick search did not turn one up... Maybe Bushmaster...

No, no, NO!! The piece that Bushmaster, and most of the other people sell is a POS that will drive you crazy, because every time you open the action it will rotate with the upper, but it WON'T rotate back when you close it, meaning that you'll have to drag out two screwdrivers to reposition it. And I promise you, sooner or later one of the screwdrivers will slip and mark up your lower. The only adapter I've found that stays in the same relative position no matter how many times you open and close the piece is sold by CDNN (www.cdnninvestments,com). It's inexpensive, about $5, but they have a flat rate shipping charge, so peruse the site to see if you can find something else to buy from them[:D]

Whatever adapter pin you use, be VERY careful closing the upper. If the pin rotates, it can cause enough misalignment to create a gap at the rear and, when you close it with some pressure, it might cause you to snap the lower in the pin area. An expensive snap.

Thanks for correcting me. I haven't actually bought one yet - my SP1 is still all original.

I don't know if the one I have is considered the "good" one or not, but it has worked well for me. I got it from CDNN: Upper adapter I used to run my old Bushy upper on a Colt lower because the Colt had a smooth gunsmithed trigger.
