IMHO, I would say Norrell's has the best prices and they do a awesome job.  You can get different colors too.

lauer custom weaponry with a doubt. They do SUPER work and in very fast time, I had one of mine done and had the lower back in my hands about two weeks after I sent it.

Go to the "industry forum" under "discussion forums" they should have a link. I believe the total cost was somewhere around $55.00 with return shipping included. They use duracoat which is very durable and matched my bushmaster upper perfectly.

You will not be disappointed!!

Don't paint your receiver.  If you want it refinished take it to a plating shop and have it properly anodized.  Or, several of the AR manufacturers will probably re-anodize it for a fee.

I've had work done by both Ohio Rapid Fire (parkerized my 870) and CCR (GunKoted my 1100).  I was extremely satisfied with both.

You could pick up some Norrell's Moly-Resin and do it yourself.

It's kinda fun really.

It depends on what type of finish you want. Anodized? Molycoat? Something else?

Black-T from Birdsong.
I'd only do the paint based coatings if I was doing some camo scheme.

Try CMMG they refinised two for me I think it was $45 for refinishing. I think that DPMS actually does the refinishing. Nice job and matched my upper. They are in the equipment exchange all the time with rifles and lowers for sale.

as an alternative you might want to check out Wilson Combats Armor Tuff finish. I have a Wilson pistol with this finish and like it very much. I had my black LE6721 flat top upper refinished in Armor Tuff grey and it is an amazingly close color match to the older pre-ban Colt Grey lower of my Light weight Sporter lower. It look TONS better than the old 2-tone look it had, and the finish is MUCH tougher than the original finsish and cleans up much easier too. It only cost $125 for the complete upper including barrel and they AT coated the FS black for contrast. It looks really nice. It only took about a week or 2 to finish and be returned.

For anodizing:

PC of Titusville
701 Columbia Blvd
Building 401
Titusville, Fla
(321) 267-1161

For a very durable finish called Black-T:

Walter Birdsong
1435 Monterey Road
Florence, MS 39073
(601)-939-7448

I chose to go with Walter when I got my M16 refinished, and was very pleased with the results.
