Hey all,
For building my varmint type upper, I was wondering what y'all thought would be the best FF upper that doesn't have rails all over it. I was thinking of getting a Noveske 18" bbl but I figger if I'm not going to be mounting all sorts of "tacticool" crap on it, there's no sense getting all the rails, right? So what FF tube is really high quality (it just seems wrong to have a super nice bbl, but then a POS FF tube), but doesn't have the rails on it?

DPMS makes a Carbon fiber FF tube. Might help to reduce overall rifle weight. My $.02 worth.

I really like the new JP handguards, it allos you to put rails anywhere, or nowhere if you choose.

Well even though it isn't a tube and it has on rail on the top. The handguards from Badger Ordnance are Excellent. Great for shooting off of bags, bi-pod or off-hand!!

A bare PRi tube might suit your needs. IM or e-mail Zak-Smith about his experience with them (he might not check this site anymore though).

If the tubes are interchangable than Bushmaster makes a really nice modular free float with nothing on it if u want. Hogue also makes a good tube but doesn't leave you with options.
