I am going to buy an m4 type .22 upper, does anyone have either the kuehl or dpms and can give some pros and cons of each. Do they function reliably ? Thanks for any input....Phatboy

dpms all the way, dude.

the dpms upper is a real AR upper receiver chambered in .22LR with no gas tube.
it comes in pre or post ban.
A3 flattop or A2 ironsights are available.
16" carbine or 20" stainless bull barrel.
options, my man, options.
mine functions consistently well with CCI green tags as well as Winchester Wildcats.
it's beefy, robust, solid.

alotta people like the kuehl.
that one has a gas tube, I think.

also, the bushmaster is polymer, the barrel is pencil thin, and the optics mount is silly-looking.
however, alotta people like the bushmaster (even though it looks crappy).

it's worth saving up a lil longer for the quality of DPMS.
especially if you ever require customer service. A+

The Kuehl unit is based on the Ciener conversion, but uses a true 22lr barrel and dispenses with the unrifled chamber adapter. It's also a quality unit (no gas tube) and has given me zero problems.

The biggest benefit of the Ciener based unit is that 30 round mags have already been developed. Production will resume shortly.

+1 to everything Plaskon said about the DPMS. Cheaper than Dirt has them for $400, which is THE best deal going in .22 conversions IMHO. You can pay less but you won't like it as much. You can pay more but you won't like it THAT much more!

Hows the bushy conversion?

An industry partner has a decent price on them.
