Forget the bayo ............ carry an extra 20 round magazine in your pocket. It will have a longer reach than the bayo

IF you have the 5.5" inch flash hider on your 11.5"...

You are WRONG:

I bought one for my 11.5 w/5.5" FH, works great. You can use the same bayonet that works with the 16" M4 profile. It's a Colt branded Solingen Germany blade, with extended handle(made of steel - hard to tell from the photo). A beautiful piece of work. All a had to do was dremel a bit on the inside diameter of the ring to have it fit my 5.5" flash hider, maybe like 1mm, then reblue that part. Fits perfect now. (the 5.5 FH is about 1mm larger than a standard FH. Not cheap, but very good quality. You can get them here:preban arms Colt bayonet for 16" inch carbine

And by the way, preban Arms is a great vendor. They shipped within 3 days and were great to deal with. It's an excellent blade.

Someone on this board has a picture of a 10.5 or 11.5 inch carbine with a bayonet on it.  The handle of the bayonet is gone but it lock on in the same fashion.  I would really love to find out how to get one of these.  Anyone remember whose it is?

My factory Colt 11.5 Commando doesn't have a bayonet lug.  Colt didn't put one on because they won't fit.

My Colt 9mm SMG (10.5inch) barrel does have one.  It isn't functional but they put it on there anyways.

It's a custom job from the owner who's picture I hijacked.  I wish he would make one for me!

I'm convinced, Colt is confused.

My Bushy 11.5" came with the bayo lug, but my Colt 11.5" Commando did not.  However - there can be good reason.  First, come on - bayonet on an 11.5" or less?  Second, the lug can interfere with mounting a suppressor so it becomes a serious issue for some.

When you're out of ammo, and there's roving packs of OL's around.
We've got a bunch here in PRK.

I saw a cool light attachment adapter that fit onto a bao lug at a gun show - I wish I had bought it....

Someone also makes a bi-pod attachment for the bayonet lug.

I was thinking of getting a Bushmaster 11.5" flat top upper for the rail system and bayonet lug.

I don't have any flat top uppers.  Only A1 and A2.
