Just quick questions...

1) While using 5.56 nato surplus, 1:7 is better then 1:9 out of a 16" barrel, right?

2) 1:7 16" CMT w/ 'F' FSB upper, which carry handle do I use for correct sight alingment: RRA, Colt, BM?

Thanks,

~d

If shooting only surplus ammo, 55gr and 62gr, neither is better. If shooting surplus 62gr tracers, then the 1/7 will likely be needed due to the long bullets used in this round. If shooting heavy bullets, like 75-77gr loads, then the 1/7 may be needed.

These are all the same.

Thanks,

Mongo is right. I can attest to the fact that 1:9 is not sufficient for M856 tracers, but they are sill fun to shoot. Some of them go 'haywire" as they spin out of control after a few hundred yards. Obvious warning: make sure nothing is around when shooting tracers wth ANY barrel but especially 1:9 or higher.

I have 1:9 in my .223 barrels and I am perfectly happy. I have no current need to shoot higer than 62gr bullets.
