I think i need to refrase my question.  what is the simpliest way to add the a.r.m.s. #40 mount and a Leupold mark 3 or 4 scope.  do i have to use a rail? what about ring heigth?? looking at the warne quick detach rings but the heigth will change if i need to add a rail.

Which scope are you trying to add?  Have you considered the (excellent) Armalite one-piece scope mount?  We need a lot more specifics to help you.
