FN-FAL: build yourself and save!! Plus, you will become very familiar with its operation, and spare parts are readily available (unlike CETME). There are so many options, accessories, goodies available for FAL's it is really FUN to build one.

I'd really recommend saving some extra dollars and getting a top notch rifle from the get-go instead of settling for a parts gun like a FAL or a G3 or CETME rebuild. Buy an M1A or an AR-10. The M1As used to use a lot of surplus parts but most of the look like new production. The AR-10 is all new parts and more accurate.

if you are going to spend 1k+ i personally love my m1a bush rifle.... most fun rifle i own.... just don't get the lame scout mount.... it heated up my aimpoint till i could barely touch it...that was with 3 mags dumped through it..... not good. LittleJacek
