Has anyone modified a ar-7 30 round mag fro use in a dpms 22lr upper? Is there enough clearance in the magwell for the forward sweep of the ar-7 magazine? Thanks in advance.

I seriously doubt this will work, and the forward sweep is only half the problem.

Remember that the DPMS .22 rifle has no ejector--the ejector is built into the left lip of the magazine. Unless you can find a mag with that lip, or silver-solder one on, it won't work.

Just had an idea--might be possible to mate the metal part of the DPMS mag with the curved portion of that 30-round AR-7 mag, maybe. If you could find a spring that would drive the whole mess.

DPMS may have hicap mags available in November.
