Does anyone have any info on AR type rifles chambered in the 260 remington.  I've seen some of the conversions for the bushmaster and ar-10, but they seem really high priced.   I would definetly buy one chambered in 260 if the price was right.  I don't exactly know the best way to go with this.   I was hoping that I could buy a DPMS LR308 and just change out the barrel and gas block.  The bolt size and the mags for the LR should work.  If anyone has any info I would greatly appreciate it.

I read a couple of things on the net (FWIW) that hinted that it may be somewhat difficult to make 260's reliable from existing AR-type rifles.

I ain't smart enough to know if that's true or something that can be fixed easily, just wanted you to know what I've read.

I'm in the process of having one built by GAP for the same price as there Precision AR10. I'll be using it for a walking varminter for wolf.  I have not heard of any reliability issues but if they did develop I'm sure George Gardner would stand behind it,

An AR10 would be AWESOME in .260!  My brother has a Savage Striker in .260 and I LOVE that cartridge!  It would make a really sweet long range varmint round and it will definitely take deer.

I can see absolutely no reason why you could not get an AR10 barrel chambered in .260... after all, the parent cartridge is a .308... necked down to 6.5mm.  I've "made" brass for my brother's 260 out of "range found" .243 and 7mm-08 brass.  There is a great selection of 6.5mm bullets too.  I'm not 100% sure, but I think I've seen FALs in .260 somwhere (probably DSA).

I can also do 260 Barrels for DPMS or AR-10's
I have reamers for 243, 260, 7-08, 308 and 358.
While I have not done barrels for all of them, I see no good reasons why they could not be made to run.
