Precision shooting is often required in certain civilian and law enforcement applications into which an enhanced M16/AR15 is placed. In that scenario there is no bigger equipment-related distraction than a heavy or creepy trigger pull. Our set trigger fire control mechanism, designed in conjunction with one of our divisions, DVC Armaments, offers the operator two significantly different pull weights. Without initiating the GG&G set mechanism the pull weight on the usual M16/AR15 will be no better than a scratchy 7 to 9 pounds (sufficient and perhaps safer in most tactical scenarios). To initiate the GG&G set trigger modification, retract the operating rod to draw the bolt rearward and cock the weapon. Rotate the selector lever to the engraved line between “SAFE” and “SEMI.” Pull the trigger to the rear to set the mechanism. The sear release is now lowered to a crisp 3 to 4 pounds. Rotate the selector to “SEMI” and fire. This is perfect for experienced operators who need to fire one shot from an M16/AR15 with the greatest possible precision. Selector engraving marks include white, red, black or none at all. This improvement requires no new fire control components, but does necessitate sending your lower receiver to DVC Armaments for alteration.

doesnt make much sense to me to purchase one when an RRA 2 stage is roughly the same price

Anything that alters the receiver sounds no good to me.

A friend of mine, Peter Kokalis, has one of these installed on one of his M-16's. The receiver modification is very slight and unit absolutely does perform as advertised.
