I was actually thinking the same thing myself.  I've seen what's called the urban camo, which is black, white and grey, however I was thinking the traditional camo colors would be sorta cool.

There was a picture of one about a month ago.  I don't remember which thread though.  It may be in one of the picture threads above.

This guy (shootsenmeister) did one and it came out excellent! He had posted a link to the picture but it is down. IM him and maybe he can help you out.

Here's what I did last week (Not ACU obviously).

Can you give some more details? That looks cooler than a lot of other urban patterns I've seen.

I used Duracoat paint and stencils and an airbrush. It was pretty simple just took a little courage to start painting an expensive rifle that I hadn't even shot yet. I have an OD AR and I've done a Coyote Brown one for a friend but wanted to do something completely different.

Here's where it's on topic. I originally wanted to do an ACU pattern and asked around. When shootsenmeister showed me a picture of his mastgerpiece, I decided to go a differnet direction. I like Shoot's work it was excellent but I didn't like the gun with such light colors. Don't get me wrong, I love the ACU pattern but not on a gun. I was however set on doing a digital pattern.

I will, if you pay for the finish, and the airbrush.

No, seriously, I'd love to do a multicam AR...just don't have the funds right now.

Oh yeah, the PATTERN originally mentioned is called AUC, the UNIFORM is called ACU.

.

Actually I knew that, I just wasn't anal enough to correct it.

I thought the Army was going to keep the pattern under tight control, as the Marines did.  I know the Air Force is planing to keep their pattern closed.  And what about the Navy's new pattern?

Have you seen our new Air Force pattern?  Talk about a joke.  Nobody liked the new BlueDU (blended right in with bue carpeting) so they lightend the colors and made the tiger stripe "digital".  Took off the bottom pockets on the jacket and called it new uniform.  It is still going to have all of the problems of the old BDU.  At least the Army did right by getting feedback from the folks in the field and making changes along the way with function in mind.  We just put a bunch of folks in a room and said "come up with something that screams "Air Force" and boy did they succeed.  We are going to be even more of  a laughing stock, and lord help us if we ever have to wear that uniform in actual combat.  I know the first thing I will do is beg borrow or steal to get my hands on an Army or USMC uniform.  At least they are functional.  Not just a gimmick.  Sorry for venting but this is a VERY sore subject for me.

The Navy's pattern is in real trouble (thankfully). The results of a uniform survey were supposed to be released Oct 1. They were not. The most popular theory is the numbers are being tortured until a favorable result is had.
