The DBAL is a laser pointer/illuminator similar to the AN/PAQ-4C , see it @ http://www.laserdevices.com/fs.asp?f=lasers/laser_rifle_search.asp

They are not available to the civilian market.

What else could we say more?

Oh that is what you mean. I emailed Laser devices a while back about IR laser upgrades and they would not sell to me even though I am an Active Duty US Marine in an FMF unit. At first they were going to but then the Director of sales said that they could only sell it to my Unit. Go figure.

PP,  We had one out a few nights ago.
It got the big thumbs down on all of the the troop trial here so far.
So far we it looks like we are down to the NVEC Attila and the PEQ-2A - with the Attila leading.

The Attila

PP, it was neither as user friendly nor as versatile as the PEQ2A - nor the Attila.

I only glanced at it - so I can not give a fair comparison - just a relation as to what others in my unit have expressed.
