16" bcm m4 carbine-used for range work,50 and 100 yards
I have a magpul mbus but I need an optic. I had a vortex strikefire at one point but I wasnt impressed. Then I moved to a nikon prostaff 3-9x but that much scope looks goofy on a carbine imo and I used that scope for one of my 22s. I dont like shooting with 1x magnification,I like to halfway see my target at 100 yards.

Il put my budget at $300 right now,maybe more if I hold out for a bit. What do you guys recommend for me?

Save up a bit more and try and get a used M2 or ML3 off the EE. Seen them around for $330 to $400.

I need some magnification for shooting at 100 yards

Burris tac 30 1-4x is a great option in the $300 range.

Save a wee bit more and go with a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x ($499.99). Great value for the price...

Sorry, missed the part about wanting a bit more magnification. In that case a Vortex 1-4, save a bit or try and find a used one.

I was interested in the burris tac30 but everywhere is sold out right now

What about the Millet tactical dms 1-4x? its on sale right now at midwayusa for $209

The millet is a bad buy, the primary arms 1-4 and the chinese ones on ebay ~$129 are pretty much the same scope. The Leatherwood CMR and the Burris TAC30 are the great buys at around $300, the Vortex PST is the next step up at $500 (or around $400-440 if you are LE or find a vendor that will sale under MAP). The Leupold AR and Nikon M223 in lower $200s are good, but don't have illumination.

Wait for a Burris. I bet if you watch the EE you can find one.
Eta: I don't own the Burris, but I have spent some time behind one. It was a very nice optic for $300
I have the Nightforce 1-4

Just by the chance you are a LEO....check with customer service with Burris or Vortex...they give Great Discounts
