Centerfire systems has 1440rd case for $130. Is this stuff worthy of being shot in my AR's...ur, I mean hypothetically speaking, if I owned an AR.

Me too...

After about 3 minutes of research it looks like this is made in guatemala.  If I recall there was some talk about the surplus ammo from guatemala on this site.  Time to search the AR15 archives.

edited to add:

AR15.com research appears to indicate to stay away from the tarnished guatemalan ammo.  Do a search for "guatemala" and you will find some good information.

I ordered some of the untarnished Guat ammo from Century Arms.  It was shipped 1440 rounds in a wooden crate.  First case looked ok for the price ($.10 a round).  Function was perfect and only a few cases had tarnished spots.  Second case ordered was supposed to be untarnished, but what I received was very tarnished.  I was at the least very upset and called to have it returned.
I would not recommend the tarnished ammo, although some of it is probably not as bad as what I got.  What I received was very tarnished, so bad that you could not read the headstamps.  You want know till you open that wooden crate.  I am not willing to take that risk.
