anyone have any comparison of the a1 vs a2 buttstock ive heard that the a1 is a bit more comfortable for most people because its 5/8" shorter does anyone see any problems with the a1 buttstock on a regular 20 incher thanks and sorry about the lack of punctuation lol

The length is pretty much the only difference that I know of.  As you mentioned I find the shorter length a little bit more comfortable to shoot with particularly when wearing thicker clothing or a chest rig.

All my 20" AR's wear A1 stocks.  I'm 6'5" with long monkey arms and I find the shorter stock much more comfortable than the A2.  Just feels right.

I find that there is a world of difference between the A1 and A2 length.  I scored a Colt CS stock for nothing years ago (A1 length with A2 materials) and haven't looked back.

I highly suggest you look at Cav Arms.  I think their A2 style stock is A1 length.

It is, they call it a "C1" stock and it will accept a std. metal trapdoor buttplate if you don't like the rubber one it comes with.

Great looking guns.  I just ordered a complete A1 stock from Fulton Armory.  They are a little pricey, but come with a VERY nice butt plate assembly that matches up perfectly to the C1 stock.

I have one, but this thread made me buy another.  I'd like to do a dissy with a mid length gas system when parts become available again.

Welcome back!

Oh, ...and I prefer the A1 type stock over the A2 myself.

A2 is just too long for me.  I use a Cav Arms on my all Colt match target.

here are a couple of Dissy-clones I threw together –– both of these are CavArms C1 std. stocks

Your pics pushed me over the edge.  I just bought Custom Cruiser barrel from ADCO.
