Quick and simple question:

Do you have the 3.5 or 7 MOA dot (and why you chose that particular size)???

I was originally leaning towards the 3.5 but I realized that this sight was for close-up targets; thus the 'finer' sized dot was not necessary.

Opinions/comments please.

Thanks....

UPDATE:

I ordered a mount from the folks @ SpecWarGear last thursday (9/18) and it arrived on the 24th.

Have the 7.0 MOA , when I got it it was the only one mil-spec available. Nowday I know there is also a 3.5 MOA mil-spec available. Anyway the 7.0 works perfectly for me. PP out

I too have the 7 dot. My thinking at the time was that the 3.5 would be too small as the sight will be used an inch or two from my eye. Now that I have it I realize that line of thought was stupid. The 3.5 would have worked out just fine. Like you said, this is for up close and personal, so the size doesn't really matter. I use mine out to 100 yards and still get plenty decent accuracy. Next time, if mine ever craps out, or I just have to have another TA01/Dr. combo,I'll get a 3.5. Thanks.....Chad

FreeFalle6, roger that. The Specwargear Docter sight mount is rugged , rock solid and the supplier is reliable . I'm quite satisfied indeed from my TA01NSN & Docter red dot sight setup. PP out

Morpheus32.... As I said at the bottom of my reply to STLRN, contact them via e-mail regarding availability. Yes, the web page says sold out, but I just ordered a mount from them. The page may or may not accurately reflect the true status of an item (especially in my case)........

... Regarding the mount; Simple, I designed and made my own, trying to find a manufacturer to do a short run.

pinco noticed your spr setup is that a monolock on there and what type of optics? how good is that setup at night i was thinking about getting a monolock.what aboutthe different head position since the pvs14 is in the way? nice setup you should post some more pics of it on this board.

Mcad, that's a NXS 3.5-15x50 mil dot scope. The setup PVS14D-MonoLoc-NXS is a very good one , I'm quite satisfied from it. With the scope 4x you can get an human size target 200/250 metres far away in a dark night. If you can light up the targets with an IR illuminator or IR aimer it is possible to get even farther targets too . The head position with > < without the PVS14D-MonoLoc behind the scope is completely different . The best thing should be to mount the scope in a forward position and leave it there with all the gingles & bells , setting the rifle for dedicated night shooting only . Thanks for your kind words abt my hardware , if you need more infos just drop me a line. PP out
